Get Creative/Once Upon A Sketch Feb 15th Challenge

Howdy!

This month, Once Upon A... Sketch has teamed up with Get Creative.

The Get Creative gals have come up with some fantastic interpretations of the OUAS sketch challenge, which you can check out HERE.

This also meant that the Once Upon A... Sketch gals got to work with the fabulous sketch by Irini Liolia over at Get Creative.

This is the sketch we worked from:

And this is my take on it

The Twiddleybitz Diamond Multi Photo Overlay created a fantastic backdrop- I incorporated this to re create the block design of the sketch and photo's were placed in a similar formation.

The rectangle frame left after removing the Twiddleybitz Fine Fern Leaves Assortment was added over the top.

Papers from the Kaiser 'Sweet Nothings' Collection (available from Anna's Craft Cupboard) feature along with an assortment of Prima Blooms - #716363 Spring Metal Mix, #539412 Ameruse Duchess Mix and
Sugar Blooms - #549053 Sparkling and #549008 Celebrate.

These were arranged to flow with the horizontal and vertical design elements of the sketch. Although not quite the 'cross' effect of the sketch, these were slightly staggered to each other.

A Twiddleybitz Wheat Flourish #2 was cut up into three pieces

and added to the arrangement.

They sit over the top of the previously attached rectangle chipboard frame.

A Kaiser rubon adds a sentimental note to my two gorgeous girls - yes, perhaps biased as I am their mother LOL!

Prima Packaging

Prima Packaging from the new Wood Buttons was used to create the base for my heart.

Some die cut elements were then layered over the top - A lacey heart cut with a Cherry Lyn and Meadow Lark patterned paper and a Spellbinders Picot Edge Circle die cut from cardstock.

A corsage of blooms was created with Lady Godiva's, Hermosa, Laraine and Charlotte. A hand cut flower from Meadow Lark paper peeks out from underneath.

A banner cut from Prima Packaging creates the perfect heartfelt sentiment.

Prima February Product Pick & Palette & BAP

Product Pick and Palette

This month's PPP has the perfect blend of warm pinks, partnered with chocolate brown and lavendar.

**Sigh**

Can I just say that I totally fell in love with this palette and had a few ideas for this.

I took inspiration from the printed script paper that the gorgeous Tasha - Poppy reside upon.

Hence the Printery Love Ledger paper that features as my background.

The heart shaped box filled with sweet chocolate tugged at my heart.

I was looking at this photo of my two 'sweet' girls walking away from me and this song popped into my head. I have no reason why but it just wouldn't go away, you know when something just keeps repeating over and over again LOL!!

Anyway - the lyrics from Paul Young's song

"Every time you go away,

Seemed appropriate.

I combined Printery Love Ledger with Meadow Lark Astor Paper and a collection of gorgeous new blooms.

From the 'pick', I have included Marcelle - Starlette and Leading Lady.

The Love Ledger paper was first given a light treatment of Ranger Multi Medium and soft pink paint. I then masked some of the areas with Prima Masks and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists - Pink Bubblegum and Coffee Shop.

I coloured the hand cut Astor paper blooms with water crayons to coordinate.

You will also spy some resistant canvas, Resin Bird and Pearls and Crystals Flourish.

Next this is the February BAP

It is simply stunning!

The Spirit of Christmas

I've been fiddling with my 'bitz' - that would be Twiddleybitz in case you were getting the wrong impression LOL!!

This is where my Twiddley fiddling has taken me

'The Spirit of Christmas'

I have combined some wonderful Twiddleybitz elements with some gorgeous Prima embellishments. A touch of Prima Pixie Glen paper from the 6 x 6 Paper Stack along with some of The ScrapCake 'The Bright Side of Life' and 'Spring Awakening' patterned papers designed by Karola Witczak..

Totally **heart** the Twiddleybitz Vintage Overlay.

To give it a shabby appeal, it was given a treatment of texture paste. The paste was applied with a palette knife and I was not overly fussed with creating a smooth finish. Some areas were also stippled to add some texture.

The Vintage Overlay was attached 'The Bright Side of Life 'Dear Diary' paper.

A Twiddleybitz Round Doily Journal Plaque was layered under the photo with hand cut and die cut doily paper elements .

The star peeking out from under the bottom right hand corner of the photo has been removed from the Twiddleybitz Christmas Flourish & Stars. The star was painted white and then embossed with clear sparkle embossing powder. A light touch of Tattered Angels Patina Glimmer Mist was then applied over the top.

The foundation of the corner corsage was created with Twiddleybitz Holly Leaves. A distressed crackle effect has been created with Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Paint. Areas on the leaves and stems were highlighted with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Stain.

Prima Splendor Leaves, Cradle and blooms were added along with diecut leave stems and punched pine branches.

And how adorable is the resin Prima Deer?? Oh my goodness, he is as sweet as can be.

Another little cluster of Twiddleybitz Holly and Prima Splendor Leaves, Prima blooms and a sprinkling of resin flowers finish it off.

I have a layout to share today created for Anna's Craft Cupboard with the Kaiser Hummingbird Collection.

The colours of this collection are certainly sweet and the birdies, cages and deer elements are very cute.

For my layout, I have combined Kaiser Hummingbird patterned papers with some Sticker elements, Rub Ons and Die Cuts from the Hummingbird Collectables pack and Paper Pad.

A Beautiful Life With You

I had so much joy putting this one together.

I started with the 'Twiddleybitz Round Fantasy Overlay', added some of The ScrapCake 'Spring Awakening' papers designed by Karola Witczak and some pretty Manor House Creations blooms.

I combined these with some inspiration from the Manor House Creations January Sketch and this is what I came up with.

The Spring Awakening background paper is so soft and delicate and was perfect for achieving the light and airy feel to the page that I was after.

The Twiddleybitz chipboard elements were painted white and finished with a touch of Tattered Angels glitter glam.

Some hand cutting and some layering

A sprinkling of resin

A pretty bow

A variety of gorgeous MHC blooms

And a couple of Twiddleybitz butterflies frolicking among the blooms finishes it off.

Prima CHA Meadow Lark - 'Run to Paradise'

Hello again lovely people,

I have another Prima sample to share, this time a project created from the gorgeous Meadow Lark Collection.

My heart skipped a beat when I first saw this collection. There is so much not to love about it. Totally **heart** the colours, the birds and the floral elements.

For my following layout, I have concentrated on the blue and yellow of the collection.

I first started by altering the base of patterned paper with a light covering of Gesso and Gloss Multi Medium. A touch of glimmer mist was then added.

Floral 'Astor' blooms were hand cut from the Meadow Lark 'Astor' patterned paper and coloured with water crayons. I chose a happy yellow colour for these.

'Happy yellow Astor's' were layered with an assortment of pretty blooms including the Merelle and Sassy felt beauties.

You will also a spy a sprinkling of 'Flutter Bits' and a touch of sparkle with a Pearls and Crystal flourish.

I did move the circle element of the sketch up and towards the top right hand corner of the page and slightly staggered the photos.

Fairytale

A soft and girly page share today created with the the super sweet Kaiser Lil' Primrose collection.

A step by step is up on the Anna's Craft Cupboard BLOG if you would like to create your own 'Fairytale'.

Thank You to my gorgeous Sister - In - Law Kristy Notting from AnneaJames Photography who captured this photo of my own little 'fairytale's' recently. I have tweaked it a bit in PSE 10 with a 'Timeless' Florabella LuxeII Action

Love does indeed gives me my own fairytale everyday.....

A horse and carriage from the Lil' Primrose Collectables pack were combined layers of patterned papers from the Paper Pad and hand cut and die cut elements.

Some more Collectables were also layered behind the carriage and floral sticker elements were also layered underneath the photo.

A touch of sparkle was added to the horse's mane and flowers on the carriage with diamond Stickles.

A touch of bling with a hanging crystal was added to the die cut sentiment - die cut sentiment can be found towards the back of the Lil' Primrose paper pad.

Pretty Kaiser Paper Blooms, Mini Paper Blooms and a gorgeous MHC Ballroom 'Waltz were added.

The soft Fairy Floss, Sage, Buttercream and Dusty Pink colours worked beautifully with this collection.

The title was created with the Cockadoodledoo 12 x 12 Alpha Sticker Sheet. I first attached the stickers to patterned paper and then cut around and attached with foam tape so that they stood out.

And how cute is the little layered chipboard birdie?!

Couldn't resist and had to include him along with some fun elements including the fence, rainbow and tullip which are all from the Cockadoodledoo Collectables pack.

Something soft and girly to share today.

I have used the reverse side of the Sweet Nothings 'Devoted' Patterned Paper as the base.

Floral elements were hand cut from papers from the Sweet Nothings Paper Pad and layered with floral blooms from the 'Collectables' pack.

Doilies were die cut from patterned paper pad papers with a MFT-Die-namics High Tea Party Doily. I totally **heart** this die, the detail is amazing. It is so intricate, yet everything pops out easily. Anna has them available in store HERE.

A touch of Prima sweetness was added with a Sherwood Rose, Say It In Crystals and Alphabet Stickers.

My all time favourite punch the EK Success Large Flower Burst was used to create the punched element layered under the photo. Sadly, this punch recently took a 'road trip' of its own. ... story to follow shortly.

DH thinks I am silly for being so upset, perhaps I am silly but a paper crafter would truly understand my dismay at no longer having their favourite 'go to' tool. I mentioned my punch taking a 'road trip' and is now laying somewhere between here and whoop whoop after Miss E left it with half a loaf of bread on the back bumper of the car. She insisted on helping by putting items in back of car, but obviously they only made it so far before getting distracted. You will be pleased to know that the bread arrived safely at our destination - it was still sitting on the back bumper, but alas the punch was gone... ** sniff, sniff**

Cock-a-doodle-doo - Farm Fun

Hello!

All aboard for some 'Farm Fun' with the Kaiser Cockadoodle Collection.

This collection screams FUN with its bright colours. The farm and animal elements are super cute.

The Cockadoodle 'Oink' Patterned Paper sets the scene. I did cut this up and attached some areas with foam tape to add some depth and dimension.

Cockadoodledoo Collectables Elements were layered over the top along with cut out animals. I have incorporated the barn, wind mill, tractor, fence, tulips and farm word.

The reverse side of 'Cupids Arrow' creates my base and a large hand cut element from the 'Devotion' paper sets the foundation.

To this, other hand cut and die cut elements were layered with a 'Colletables' Frame, some Kaiser Mini Sea Breeze Paper Roses along with an assortment of pretty Prima blooms - the Alla Prima Flowers and Sherwood Truffle Roses coordinate beautifully.

I have accented with gorgeous Prima Jardinere 'Alla Prima' Flowers, along with Prima Alla Prima Essentials 11, Coventry and Sherwood Roses.

A touch of shabby bling was added with a Prima Pearl Flourish.

Festive Greetings Everyone!!

I haven't had much opportunity to get 'here' so..... Firstly, can I send out a big festive "Happy Holiday's" to you all. To all my friends travelling during this time, please take care and stay safe... xx

Creatively, I have much to share but have not had much opportunity with so much going on. I am here now (LOL), so we will kick things off with some of my recent creations for Prima.

First up, a little altered festive piece for the table.

I found the deer in a little decor shop down town. He already came glittered and a small decoration around his neck. To the mix, I added some Precious Metals - Gilded Leaves, Holiday- Metal Flowers and a touch of tulle. Gold Trim and added bells adorn his belly.

The sleigh, I have had for a little while now. It usually sits on the table with sweets - though it tends to get empty rather quickly LOL.

I have also given it a little makeover to coordinate with the reindeer. A corsage of Prima Medley 'Treasure' and more Holiday - Metal Flowers, Precious Metals - Gilded Leaves and Tulle adorn the back of it.

Sitting in the sleigh, is also a hand made bauble decoration.

The North Country collection was perfect for creating some festive 'Joy'. I have added lots of layers to create depth and detail.

The pine leaves were punched from patterned paper with a McGill 'Pine' 1" x 1.5" Punch - from recollection there is a Martha Stewart one which is similar.

Stickes 'Fosted Lace' adds a touch of frost to the tips of the leaves with Say It In Crystals adding the finishing touch.

Oh Dear......

.....is it that time of the year already! The last few weeks... O.K months have passed in some what of a blur and the next few will be more of the same I think.

We were very brave and ventured to the shopping centre last weekend. The mission was a photo with the man wearing the red suit . The last couple of years have been somewhat of a hit and a miss for this with the girls taking turn about with the Christmas Pout... O.K lets be honest - hysterical screaming scene when it comes to actually sitting on the knee of the man with the red suit.

Anyway, even after waiting for 1 1/2 hours

.... it was smiles all round this year...

This is my take on the sketch

'Oh Dear'

Let's just say that Miss N was far from happy about having her photo taken in this instance.... but I think the photo adorable nevertheless.

I had lots of fun with the North Country Collection and Ledger papers which I combined with an assortment of Prima older and newer blooms and vines to create a 'Winter Wonderland' effect. In Australia,our Christmas's are often hot, a white Christmas is something that yours truly can only dream about - creating a winter wonderland effect is the closest I will get to a 'white' Christmas LOL!!.

I hand cut a tree and deer elements from patterned paper and sat them amongst the blooms.

Some super cute Resin Mushrooms also pop up and to add a touch of shimmer, some diamond stickles was added to the tops of them.

Something a little on the festive side

Warm Greetings Friends

Today I have a little festive project share combining the Kaiser December 25th Collection (available from ANNA'S CRAFT CUPBOARD) and some awesome TWIDDLEYBITZ Chipboard.

So I started with the idea of creating a little Christmas Scene within a Twiddleybitz Wave Shadow Box.

Before Transformation the box looks like this

The instructions provided make the construction of the box a relatively easy process.

First, I pre-assembled all the shadow box components as I find it easier to know which bits are going to be on the inside - from past experience these sometimes can be a bit tricky to cover, this of course depends on the type of project you are constructing.

The inside pieces were then covered with patterned papers - I have used Kaiser December 25th Patterned Papers : P717 Festive & P716 Hope (Reverse)

The Outside of the box was then covered with December 25th Patterned Papers: P717 Festive & P715 Faith.

Twiddleybitz Holly Leaves have been layered and attached across the bottom front of the box. These were first inked and then given a sprinkling of Walnut Ink Crystals before attaching.

Punched fir leaves have also been added - these were layered amongst the holly leaves.

Behind the houses, a hedge effect was created from the P717 Festive (Holly Side) Patterned Paper. To create an element of depth, this was attached with foam tape.

The Twiddleybitz Miniature Houses were covered with patterned papers from the December 25th Paper Pad. The doors and windows on the house are the Twiddleybitz Tweeny Doors/Windows - they go perfectly with the little 3D houses. The houses were further embellished with December 25th Sticker elements and punched fir leaves.

A Rose Red 'Beautiful' MHC Bloom (available also from Anna's) adds a splash of colour.

A Twiddleybitz Triple Lamp Post shines some festive light on the little village.

Across the top of the shadow box, Twiddleybitz Santa and his reindeer can be seen flying to reach their destination and a jovial Twiddleybitz HO HO HO adds the final festive touch.

Hello Lovely People,

A layout to share today created for ANNA'S CRAFT CUPBOARD with the new Kaiser Madame Boutique Collection which is now available in store HERE.

The colours of the Madame Boutique Collection were well suited for this photo of my two girls.

Again, one of the highlights of this collection is the pretty 'Lace' Die Cut Paper, totally **heart** it.

I have trimmed it slightly - the off cut has been used on another project which I will share with you soon.

Most of the elements that are layered behind the photo and the doily heart have come from the 'Collectables' Pack. I have also added some hand cut elements and some clusters of blooms.

A touch of bling was added with a lagoon rhinestone flourish and crystal dangle.

The colours provided the perfect foundation for creating a 'Fall' Inspired Wreath for the home.

At the moment it takes pride of place resting over one of the door handles on my kitchen dresser.

To start with, I first created a circular frame base from sturdy chipboard.

I then worked my way round the base by wrapping, layering and attaching Aglow and Splendor leaves and vines. I did find that a hot glue gun was very handy during this construction process.

I then created a little scene with the help of a Twiddleybitz Arch Gate and Fence, Cast Iron Gate and Miniature House.

The Arch was positioned to sit behind the house.

The little house is the taller one from the pack which contains 3 houses. It was first altered altered with Prima North Country patterned papers.

The main house piece was embossed before attaching.

Some small strips of paper were punched with a border punch and attached to resemble eaves and decorative fret work.

Resin pieces were added to complete the 'homey' touches. These were lightly painted with Turquoise Blue glimmer mist and inked in with brown Stazon Ink.

Accents of dark and light teal were added with a sprinkling of pretty rose, trellis blooms and Alla Prima patterned paper accents.

The chipboard mix I have combined here are well suited for the Graphic 45 and Prima Flights Of Fancy Butterflies I have used.

The chipboard has been inked in subtle colours to coordinate with the colours of the papers - I used white and soft blue.
Chipboard elements have been layered with hand cut patterned paper elements and some pretty blooms.

Next, I have something 'New' created especially for this blog hop.

I love to play 'dress ups' especially with the Twiddleybitz Miss Charlotte dress form.

MDF013 - Miss Charlotte

The 'Miss Charlotte' Dress Form was first painted flat white and then assembled.

Then I had lots of fun playing dress ups.

I first created a tulle skirt and attached around the waist of the dress form.

A bodice was then created from Prima patterned papers - a small strip that was concertina folded was attached to the front and a smaller unfolded strip at the back of the dress form.

Prima Fabric Leaves were then randomly attached around the waist and punched/ die cut cardstock elements were layered intermittently.

A touch of whimsy with some pretty organza ribbon bows and wings.

The wings were created by using a large butterfly die and acetate. The butterfly was then cut in half and the wings were attached at the back. Star Dust Stickles was applied along the die cut edges to add a little fairy dust magic.

A sprinkling of blooms and little halo finish the transformation.

A little while back, I was invited to participate with an 'Easy As' 1,2,3 Challenge for the Scrapbooking Memories Magazine.

From the given sketch, I created a layout and card.

As seen in SM Vol 13 NO 11

Layout - 'Coy'

Thesketch provided a great foundation which I was able to put my own ‘creativespin’ on by reducing the size of some of the design elements to suit the sizeof the photo I wanted to work with.

Thecircle embellishment elements of the sketch were replaced with hand cutflowers from patterned papers, flower blooms and butterfly.

Card - 'Love'

The sketch was also easilyadapted for a card.

I rotated the sketch to suit the landscape orientation andreplaced the photo element of the original sketch with a sentiment diecut. A Prima Madeline note card creates a lovely card sentiment and the pretty picture on the note card replaces the embellishing.

Happy Halloween Prima Syle

Greetings!

To all of my lovely OS friends HAPPY HALLOWEEN, and belated greetings to my Aussie friends for yesterday who celebrated Halloween.

Personally, we have never celebrated Halloween and I can honestly say that I have never been trick or treating LOL!! But with saying this, I did have a whole lot of fun putting these Halloween inspired Prima projects together.

In the meantime, I do have something a little spooky , a little bit wicked with a whole lot of PRIMA 'treats' to share today.

First up a little witch's 'couture' boot

I created the boot from black card stock and I have to confess that the constructing of it nearly did my head in LOL!! It looked so much easier in my head than it turned out to be, let's just say that there was a LOT of tweaking,adjusting and just a couple of exasperated comments along the way... hehehe

Once the boot was assembled, it was embellished with an assortment of Prima Papers, Crystal Palace Vine and Splendor Leaves.

A splash of colour was added with a gorgeous Carlotta bloom and die cut pattered paper element which was misted a rich purple colour.

Some ornamental edging was added to finish off the top edge of the boot.

Ribbon bows adorn the back of the boot with Say It In Crystals scattered over the top of the bows.

So we now have the boot, but no witch is complete without a hat - some of you will recall already seeing this

.... And I did have lots of fun creating this

Now, for me there is nothing really cute about the real life bat and quite frankly they freak me out... but even I couldn't resist these

This variety is pretty cute Hey??

I have combined Prima TRICK OR TREATS 'Night Flight' and 'Bat Vine' with AGLOW 'Black Magic' and a gorgeous CARLOTTA 'Royale' bloom.

A Paper Mache hat was first painted with black glitter paint with tulle then wrapped around it.

Prima Black Magic leaves were layered around the base of the hat. The metallic shades and sugar glitter make these leaves 'glow' with gorgeousness!

A few Prima Glitter Twisters were also added along with a 'Bat Vine'.

Ribbon Bows and a gorgeous Carlotta bloom finish the transformation.

Anna's Craft Cupboard Cock-a-doodle-doo Reveal

Howdy!

A layout to share today.

This one has been created from the new Kaiser Cock-a-doodle-doo Collection which is available now at ANNA'S CRAFT CUPBOARD.

I had so much fun putting this one together.

The Cock-a-doodle-doo collection has some super cute animal elements but this time around I wanted to concentrate on the gorgeously bright colours of the collection. I also made a happy discovery contained within the new collection pack - the rainbow and clouds.

I have cut a couple of strips from one of the 12" x 12" patterned papers but the majority of the patterned papers used have all come from the 6.5" x 6.5" Paper Pads - I find these so versatile.

I did add a splash of brighter green for contrast from another patterned paper that I had in my stash.

The title has been created from some of the new Prima typography alphabet stickers - these ones are from the Printery range and are the perfect size especially for creating a long worded title. These are also available from Anna's, check them out HERE .

I mixed things up a bit and Dear Lizzy glitter Thickers were used for the word 'rainbows'.

Prima {Some Kind Of Wonderful}

Hello Lovely People,

I have a layout created for Prima to share with you today.

The photo was taken recently of my two girls, who, for the most part, enjoy spending time with each other. Where one is, the other is not too far away.
This photo fills my heart with much joy

I just adore the soft and delicate Prima Romantique paper that has been used for the base of the layout. This was combined with the softer lilac and paler olive toning's of Prima Londonerry.

Some doilies cut from Prima acrylic packaging have also been added.

A bouquet of Prima blooms both new and older add a touch of girly prettiness. You will also spy a Bretton Vine, Splendor Leaves, Meredith Butterfly and some Resin tucked amongst the layers.

To create a decorative accent to the resin bird house, an architecture resin cornice was attached across the top. A little Say It In Crystal glittery heart was the perfect size for filling the little heart crevice.

A larger butterfly element was die cut from patterned paper. The antenna's were created from a pastel twister as well as flight path.

Trimming the Tree

Hello Lovely People

Dare I say, and I cannot even believe I am saying the 'F' word. Yes, the 'FESTIVE' time of the year is approaching, perhaps more rapidly than I would like. Gosh, I was down town yesterday and most of the shops and shopping centre were already decorated in festivity and Christmas wares - and what, we are just coming up to the end of October.

Is it just me or does it feel like that Christmas comes about faster than the one before. Must be a sign of me getting older LOL!

But with saying all of this - I do love Christmas, even though the hype and lead up to it can be quite frazzling.

Today, I am sharing some 'festive' love of my own with a project that I recently completed for ANNA'S CRAFT CUPBOARD showcasing the Kaiser December 25th Collection - available in store HERE.

I started with a Kaiser Flourish Tree which I painted, glittered and misted.

As lovely as it was in it's painted, glittered and misted state, it was kind of bare looking and needed some dressing up.

Some rolled roses were made with patterned paper with the help of a Sizzix 3 D Rose Die.

These were fixed randomly around the tree.

I also added bows, paper roses and Pearls. These were all given a light misting before they were attached.

The Pearls were an assortment of Kaiser Pearl Brads. The prongs on each of the brads were removed before attaching to the tree.

Of course, any Christmas tree is not complete with a tree topper.

A Kaiser wooden star flourish adorns the top with ribbon bows, leftover Prima Vine trendils, more rolled roses and punched fir branches.
