Ruby Rock-It: Here Comes Santa

Hello Again!!

Today sharing a fun project created with the  New Traditions Christmas Collection.  We are approaching the 'down hill slide' of the year and dare I say it - Christmas will be here before we know it.  Every year I seem to say 'Already?' - It just seems to comes around quicker and quicker. 

 During one of our recent trips to Kmart, I spied these super cute upside down Santa legs and boots which were perfect for the project that I had in mind.

So.... Here comes Santa!  (down the chimney):

 

Ruby Rock-It Products:

12 x 12 New Traditions Paper Pad, 6 x 6 New Traditions Paper Pad, Bolt Chipboard Buttons BOE55, Happy Days Chipboard Alphabets HYE25, Bella Florals JA0498 (white flower)

Other:

Paper Straws, Tulle, Festive Berries, Flower Vine, Pear Baubles, Metal Frame Die, Chipboard, Aleene's True Snow, Stencil, Wire, Santa's Legs (from Kmart), Decorative Border Punch, White Cardstock (for creating snow borders around edge)

  

I created chimney base from chipboard.  I wanted a larger chimney so worked with a 12 x 12 sheet which I cut in half ( ie: 2 x pieces measuring 15 cm x 30 cm).  The sides were covered with paper from the 12 x 12 New Traditions Pad. The corners embellished with strips trimmed from the coordinating red glitter cardstock also included with the pad.

Some brick detail was added - Texture medium was applied to bare chipboard with a stencil and then trimmed.

The chimney top was constructed again with chipboard, painted black and the sides embellished with New Traditions paper.  Match Boxes (empty) were wrapped with paper from the 6 x 6 New Traditions Pad to create presents.  Some were wrapped with twine and embellished with a star chipboard button from Bolt #BOE55.  These were scattered amongst the festive flowers and berries. 

A Christmas Sentiment was added to the front chimney panel.  A few more chipboard buttons were added for decoration purposes along with the fussy cut 'Flying Santa'.

Graphic 45 2018 Brand Ambassador Audition

Hello and Welcome!

It is with much pleasure that I submit my application for the Graphic 45 2018 Brand Ambassador Audition.

Creating with Graphic 45 collections has always been a beautiful creative journey for me.   

I am a dimensional paper crafter and I was able to add lots of layers with fussy cut elements from the Fairy Dust patterned papers for my layout "Believe in Magic". 

I enjoy creating scenes as an extension of my photos - My youngest girls loves bubbles (and fairies) and I extended the blowing bubbles theme with the circle elements of the layout.
Some random circles were added with the Cardstock Stickers and circles cut from the Daisy Chain paper.

Fairies and pretty violet blooms have been cut from Fairie Dust and Dreamland papers. Also from one of the larger cards from the Journaling & Ephemera Card Pack.


Fairies and violets were layered with cute toadstools from the Tiny Toadstools paper.
The journaling card with 'Close your eyes and make a Wish' was the perfect sentiment for my photo.

As much as I love creating layouts, I also enjoy going beyond the page and altering items.

I have again chosen the delightful Fairy Dust Collection, have up cycled a toilet roll holder and used it in the creation of this Fairy House. 

This features paper styling and lots of fussy cut elements.  I really did go to my happy place when I created this!

A Winter Christmas Wonderland

 Hi Everyone,

I am popping in today to share some more 2Crafty Chipboard inspiration. This month
 I have gone beyond the page with Christmas winter wonderland inspired projects.
Our Christmas's here often are quite warm with zero chance of snow - one day
 I hope to travel & experience a 'White Christmas'.   In the meantime, I will keep
 dreaming of a white Christmas.

These quaint little dwellings would make a sweet table centre piece to any table.  Create a few and make a village!

For my first dwelling, I have created a 3 dimensional house and created a pretty winter scene with 2Crafty loveliness.

The dwelling was created with 2 of the houses from the Houses set. The two other walls were created by tracing around the house with 4 windows and cutting out from chipboard/box board. The walls were adhered together with hot glue and then covered with patterned paper.

The dwelling sits on a bed of winter foliage including branches trimmed from the large
tree from the Christmas Tree Set and Winter Twig Branches. 

A decorative facade was added to the front and along the roof ridge with one of the
 pretty Lacey Borders (set 1).
The chipboard was painted with a coat of Dina Wakley White Gesso and snow accents
 were added with 'Fantasy Snow'.  Super fine crystal glitter was sprinkled over the top
whilst the media was still wet.
A trimmed the  Ornate Fence tip decorates the front porch roof.

Trimmed brick elements from the 'Brickwall' add texture to the house walls. A larger  

Lamp Post sits behind the house with trimmed Ornate Fence pieces added to the 

sides and steps leading up to the front door.

A base was created for the house to sit on from chipboard/box board and an empty ribbon 

spool to create a little elevation. Another Lacey Border was affixed around the outer edge.

Continuing on with the Christmas winter wonderland theme, I have created a larger
dwelling to add to the village.  This time I used a Tim Holtz Bigx Die to create the
 house along with lots of 2Crafty loveliness incorporated to create the scene.  

Once again, a bed of winter foliage was added to the 'ground' with Winter Twig Branches. The branches painted white with accents of  'Fantasy Snow'. A little deer (from the Deer Set) frolics in the snow.

The house walls were accented with trimmed bricks from the Brickwall piece.  

A Fir Christmas Tree sits behind the house and lamp post. 

Three dimensional elements were created with Lamp Posts and Winter Twig Branches. 

A trimmed post from the Ornate Fence was added near the top of the lamp post and

 a trimmed tip added to the top. 

Trimmed branches from the Christmas Tree Set were tucked into the floral 

arrangement on the lamp post.

A larger base was created for the house to sit on from chipboard/box board and an empty 

ribbon spool to create a little elevation. Another Lacey Border was affixed around the outer edge.
