2CC: Time Has Flown

Hi Everyone!
I have another design team project to share showcasing some more 2Crafty Chipboard loveliness.
The chipboard elements were  kept softer to coordinate with the soft toning of these beautiful Blue Fern 'Frolic' papers.

Gosh, it only seems like yesterday when we were bringing this one home from hospital:

"Time Has Flown"
Once again, I have layered lots of fussy cut elements with the chipboard pieces.
A larger and middle sized Clock Face Frame were arranged behind the photo.
Whilst a smaller one has been tucked in amongst the blooms.
I trimmed a Lacey Border and this sits under the bottom edge of the photo.  I love
these pretty borders.  They are so versatile and one of my favourite pieces.  You will
often see these pop on my projects.
The negative frame from the smallest clock face frame was tucked in underneath
the floral cluster and a trimmed Chain Length hangs down.
A Scroll 3 was added at the bottom with a small flower attached over the top.

2CC: Follow Your Heart

Hi Everyone,
Popping in today to share some more 2Crafty Chipboard inspiration. I have created something more on the whimsical style.
It was fun creating a floral playground for my 'little fairy':
Follow Your Heart

A fairy does require wings and Skeleton Leaves' were perfect for giving my fairy her wings.
Fairies and butterflies go hand in hand - a Delicate Butterfly rests on a Leafy Shrub.
I adhered this in place on a slight angle upwards to add a little dimension.
Follow Your Heart was the perfect sentiment for this very sweet little fairy.

Elements from both Leafy Shrub Set 1 and Leafy Shrub Set 2 were used to extend the delicate Flowery Swirly Frame. These were tucked in around where my little fairy rests among the fussy cut floral blooms - I used patterned papers from My Mind's Eye In Bloom Collection.
A little shading and splatters were added around the flower edges with Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays.

The Flowery Swirly Frame also creates a happy terrarium effect.
The chipboard elements were kept darker to add contrast to the 'heavier' toning of the fussy
cut floral elements.  A touch of metallic gold accents the wings, title and flowers of the 11" frame.

Dream

Hello!!

Backtracking today and sharing something that I created a while back for Scrapbook Creations Issue 104 for their colour challenge. I have had a play with Dylusions Ink Sprays and water for creating the background effect on the white cardstock.
'Dream'

To recreate a similar background effect:
Position a Prima Turkish Grunge stencil over the top of the cardstock and spray with Calypso Teal and Green Grass. Concentrate on the areas where the photo and embellishment is going to be and alternate the colours leaving areas of space between the colours. Remove the stencil and then spray over the coloured areas with water. Use paper towel to blot up the areas of excess and to soften. when dry apply extra masked detail with white gesso paint randomly - I used a stencil with circles for this.

Chipboard elements were painted white and then also misted with Calypso Teal and Green Green. Spray a small amount each of the colours onto a non slip craft mat, position the chipboard piece over the top and then twist/rotate around to create a swirly, variegated effect of the colours.

Thanks for dropping by,
Till next time,

Sweet Sentiments

Hello Lovelies!

Today I something a little sweet and sentimental created with Graphic 45 'Sweet Sentiments' Collection. This just makes my heart swoon with it's pretty toning's, flowers, hearts and wee rabbits and is available in the Sassy Scrapper Store HERE

Sweet Sentiments

The base is a more neutral toning from the Secret Garden and a shadow box effect was created with the outer frame trimmed from the 'Sweet Sentiments' Paper. To add a little depth, this was adhered around the outer edge of the base page with foam tape.

A large floral frame element was die cut (with my cricut) from the reverse of the 'All My Love' paper and tucked in under the edges. Decorative punched edges were added to thinner strips trimmed from 'Perfect Petals' and tucked in over the top.

Fussy Cut elements from ' Sweet Sentiments', 'Perfect Petals,'Violet Bouquet'  and 'Easter Greetings' were arranged and layered to add embellishment.

Happy Easter and beautiful blessings to you all sweet friends

Kraft Plus: Design Inspiration

Hello Lovelies,

Welcome to the the next Kraft Plus fabulous challenge - All That Glitters.

There is so much to get the creative mojo going - Sketch + Sequins/Glitter/Gold/Sparkles and Bling.

Here is my interpretation:

The sketch was rotated and the photos slightly staggered. The background colour was applied in a  vertical 'line formation' to represent the strips of paper of the sketch with a few strips of papers and washi, then added over the top.

I started by adding golden details to Kraft Cardstock with a Prima Stencil (#572181) and Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine.

White Gesso was then swipped over some of the area background area.  Some colour magic was added with a few Lindy Stamp Gang sprays and Dlusions - Lucky Shamrock Green, Sweet Violet Purple Teal, Hydrangea Blue and Funky Fuchsia.

Prima GLITTER Twisters were used to frame the photo and fine GOLD thread through the floral cluster.

SEQUINS, Prima Crystals, Glitz Designs and Kaiser Bling add a little SPARKLE.

A medley of Prima Flowers and Manor House Razzles embellish a Twiddlebitz Journal Plaque (cut in half) which has been accented with GOLD metallic paint.

Happy Krafting!!

Masters Entry

Hello, Hello!!

Today I am sharing my projects that I created for the Australian Magazine Scrapbooking Memories 2014 Masters Competition. Although my entry was unsuccessful, I did have some fun playing along with the task criteria. Congratulations to the very talented 10 that were made Scrapbooking Memories Masters for 2014-2015.

Here is my take on Task 1 for the single layout 5" x 7" photo:

You Are My Wonderland

My take on Task 2 for the single layout including a non traditional item and I was thrilled to receive an Honourable Mention for this one.

Back Track 75

I chose to alter a vinyl record for the non traditional item

My take on Task 3 for single layout with journalled focus:

Home

I did choose to go with a different take on the journalled task for this one and incorporated a chalkboard sentiment as the focus. Opening the doors reveals more sweet sentiments for my family with die cuts and tags.

My take on Task 4 for the Altered Journal Cover:

Every Revolution Begins With a Spark

This started out as Paper Mache Book Album. Now I must confess that the whole ‘art journal’ concept with all those blank pages is kind of intimidating for me. So for something a little different, I converted mine into a 3D ‘art’ book. Those blank inside pages that I initially found so ‘intimidating’ were instead used to create the shadow box effect by being adhered together. A middle section was removed by using the front cover’s window as a template.  The back cover of the book had a similar opening and was then attached to the reverse side of the adhered pages.   A smaller ATC sized shadow box was constructed and then inserted into the cavity created. The front cover attached over the top creates the 3 dimensional effects.
