Loving These Moments

Hi Everyone!
Popping in with a project recently created for 2Crafty Chipboard. I have combined some lovely chipboard pieces with 7 Dots Studio papers and pretty Prima flowers.

I added a little water colour fun to the background paper with Ken Oliver pigment powders. Some stamping was added with Prima Coffee Stain Cling Stamps and masked detail with a Donna Downey stencil and texture paste.

I have framed my photo with the larger  2 Crafty Circle Heart Frame.
A medium sized one along with the smaller Circle Dot Frame sit behind the photo.

The frames were heat embossed with Colour Blast Sunshine Embossing Powder with
Sunshine Colour Paste dabbed over the top. I dried the paste with a heat gun which
created a lovely textural effect.

Mini Hexagon Clumps, the Fencing Wire Panel and Chain Length were cut up.
Pieces were inked black and then attached under and around the photo.
Prima flowers were altered with pigment powders and water. These sit on die cut leaves which were cut from 7 Dots papers and then altered with water colour.

Thanks so much for dropping by,

Live Your Adventure

Hi Everyone,

I have something a little more grungy and mechanically inspired to share with you today.
This one features some gorgeous 7 Dots Studio papers, 2Crafty Chipboard loveliness and some Colour Blast fun!
Strips of patterned paper were arranged on the background paper and misted over with Colour Blast Deep Water Shimmer Spray. A 2Crafty Chipboard Square Collage Panel sits behind my photo. The panel was first inked with brown chalk ink with turquoise stone randomly dabbed over the top. Deep Water Shimmer Shimmer Spray was then spritzed over the top.
I die cut some elements from patterned paper and these were also altered with Shimmer Sprays in Leather and Deep Water.
The title 'Live Your Adventure' was altered with a couple of coats of Leather then with Deep Water randomly spritzed over the top. This created a lovely variegated effect.
A similar treatment was done for the Beaded Hanging Heart.
Gears and a Pen Nib were spritzed with Leather Shimmer Spray. A couple of
applications were applied to build up the intensity.

Thanks so much for dropping by,
Till next time

Altered Paper Mache Album

Hello!!

From time to time, I like to venture outside the ‘creative square’ so to speak. This time a quote from the ‘Hunger Games’ movie-  ‘Every Revolution Begins With A Spark’ provided the initial creative ‘spark’ for my altered album.
.

This started out as Paper Mache Book Album.  So for something a little different, I converted the album into a 3D ‘art’ book.

'Every Revolution Begins With A Spark'

Texture and detail were added with layers of patterned paper, lace ribbon, canvas, gauze, button trinkets and mixed media.

Chipboard cogs, gears, sprockets and metal game spinners have been incorporated into the design to evoke the rotation of moving parts synonymous with the word ‘revolution’ from the quote.  Whilst light bulbs and spark plugs are the ignition for spark.

The blank pages of the album were used to create the shadow box effect by being adhered together. A middle section was removed by using the front cover’s window as a template.  The back cover of the book had a similar opening and was then attached to the reverse side of the adhered pages.   A smaller ATC sized shadow box was constructed and then inserted into the cavity created. The front cover attached over the top creates the 3 dimensional effects.

Mixed Medium detail added with a brick stencil, antique gold texture paste and colour mists.

Chipboard elements were inked brown and then highlighted with a subtle dabbing of metallic gold paint.
Thanks so much for dropping by,

PaperHaus Magazine and 7 Dots Studio Feature

The PaperHaus Magazine and 7 Dots Studio recently teamed up together for a combined feature. Here is another one of the projects I created to showcase another of the beautiful 7 Dots Studio collections. 'Dream Big' combines papers from The Queen's Heart collection:
 Showcasing 7 Dots Studio Products:

Manor House Creations flowers coordinate beautifully with these papers - Here I have combined Blueberry Imagine with White Sweeties, Springtime and Solitude and Pink and Blue Sweeties along with scattering of Tweeny Weenies Roses,
Design elements were created with a little fussy cutting,  die cutting and paper piecing from the patterned papers.

PaperHaus August Sketch, 7 Dots Studio Feature and Manor House Creations

Hello!

Today's project is brought to you with inspiration from the PaperHaus August Sketch, gorgeous 7 Dots Studio All I Ever collection and Manor House Creations floral beauty.

The sweet, giggling girl featured is my niece and I must thank her beautiful Mummy, Kristy Notting for allowing me to use these photos. Kristy specialises in natural light photography, and 'little people' are especially her favourite specialty.  I think that she does an amazing job!

So  first off, I thought I would share a little background behind my sketch interpretation:

I started with the PaperHaus August sketch created by Jules:

And rotated it 180 degrees, minimalised and moved the photo arrangement up towards the top.

Other design elements of the sketch are also moved upwards and  incorporated in the top half of my page:
The photos were arranged in a similar horizontal story board arrangement but were slightly angled.
I then when back to the original sketch orientation, minimalised and moved everything down towards the bottom of the page to create a mirror image effect. This time, I kept the photo arrangement in the straight horizontal arrangement.
The papers I have worked with are from the 7 Dots Studio ALL I EVER collection. I just love the heavier weight of the papers and the gorgeous pastel tonings. I have focussed on the lilac, salmon pink and blue of the collection.

I complimented the papers with some pretty Manor House Creations flowers in coordinating tones. White and Lilac Sweeties, Purple and Blue Shades, White Springtime, Solitude and  Purple Razzles feature. A  splash of watermelon was added with a few Rue blooms. Kaiser Sparklets were added to the flower centres to add a touch of glitzy bling.
