Ruby Rock-It! - Glitzy Easter Egg

Hello Everyone,
Trudi with you today sharing a 'Glitzy' standing egg creation.
I had lots of fun combining a few Bella! Glitzy Gold, Foiled Hearts & Stripes with a sprinkling of  Ruby Rock-It! Dancette Glittered and Happy Days papers.  This is also a project that you could easily get the kids involved with.
Ruby Rock-It! Products:
Bella! Glitzy Gold - GZ725 Confetti, GZ817 Arrows,GZ787 Bunting, GZ794 Honeycomb, Bella! Hearts& Stripes - Foiled HAS49 Gold, HAS25 Foiled Blossom, Ruby Rock-It Dancette Glittered DE48 Lilac & DE55 Pink, Ruby Rock-It Happy Days HY33 Buzz & HY64 Spot This, Bella! Magic & Wonder MAW60 Stripe
Other:
Recycled Ribbon Spool

I created an egg shape template which I used to create the concertina effect. This egg is on the larger size -I was able to get 4 eggs to each 12 x 12 sheet of paper.
Each of the cut out eggs where folded in half and attached at the folds with adhesive.  Too create a fuller egg - add more folded pieces.
The egg has been attached to a recycled ribbon spool.

The bow was created from 1" strips of paper which where trimmed into smaller lengths and folded and attached to create loops.  To create the curly tendrils trim thin lengths of paper and wrap around thin paintbrush handle or skewer.

Thanks so much for dropping by
Happy creating and wishing you all an 'egg'celent adventure!

Ruby Rock-It: From Our Home to Yours

 Hi Everyone,
Today I am sharing some more  festive creativity with the Christmas Dreams Collection.
I just love creating these wreaths!  For this one, I have gone for something a little shabby chic and winter wonderland inspired.
 Ruby Rock It! Products:
Christmas Dreams 12 x 12 Paper Pad, Christmas Dreams 6 x 6 Paper Pad, Bella Flowers
  Other:
Styrene Ring (22cm), Tulle, Wide Ribbon (Wire Edged), Metal Dies - Floral Die, Stars & House, Leaves, White Berry Stamens

Create your own sweet wreath with colours to coordinate with your festive decorations.
The styrene rings can be picked up from craft shops for a couple of dollars.
Start by tying strips of tulle around the ring.  Then randomly adhere a few leaves.
If you have a leaf die - try die cutting a few leaves from the white glittered paper from the Christmas Dream pads, these would look lovely!

Create berry vines - Stagger the heights of the berry heads and then twist the metal lengths together. (I picked these up from Kmart). Place around the ring and affix in place when happy with arrangement.
Attach a few Bella pale blue flowers around the ring.
Die Cut 3 x floral flourishes from coordinating paper from the 6 x 6 Christmas Dreams Paper Pad.  Position and attach in place.

Die Cut a few different sized stars from the white glitter paper at the back of the paper pads.  Arrange and affix in place.
Create a small house (I used a die) from coordinating papers from the 6 x 6 Christmas Dreams pad.
Attach this along the bottom inside edge of the ring.
Fussy cut a few bird elements from papers and layer amongst the foliage.
Finish off by adding a bow created from wire edged ribbon and attach in place.

From our house to yours,
Happy Creating!

Take Flight

Hello!

Popping in with another altered project to share - this one was created for 2Crafty Chipboard when I was on their Design Team last year.

One of my girls was gifted a mini alphabet light up letter from Typo - of course I kept the box (as you do when you are a paper crafter) as it was so cool.  So here it is - it has now been given a makeover with lots of Graphic 45 Steampunk and 2Crafty Chipboard loveliness.

"Take Flight"

I covered the box with papers from the Steampunk Debutante Collection - though I did leave the sides the box unaltered as this was where all the cool manufacturing printed stuff was :)

A peek a boo effect was created - I layered lots of fussy cut elements with chipboard and metal pieces on the inside.  Dimension was created with the layers and the help of foam tape.

A metallic look was given to the large chipboard Fanciful Butterfly with black ink, patina and antique gold shimmer sprays.
Other chipboard pieces were inked black then lightly dabbed with a little metallic gold paint.

A few metal elements were also added to the front and along the sides of the box along with steampunk inspired 2Crafty Chipboard.

Thanks so much for dropping by,

xxTrudi

Flower Fairy House

Hello Everyone,

Sharing a wee 'Flower Fairy' House that I have created with some gorgeous 49andMarket papers, layered embellishments and lots of their pretty flowers.

The house was created with a Sizzix Rounded 3D Birdhouse Die and papers from the Tattered Path collection.

2Crafty Chipboard Chicken Wire was scrunched up and affixed over the roof.  A vine was cut into two pieces - one piece used for the top floral cluster.

Layered embellishments from  3D Dragonfly Revolution were tucked in around the floral cluster.
Fussy cut fairies from Spring Fairies collection frolic amongst the pretty blooms.

The base decorated with more layered embellishments, flowers, mushrooms and birdie:

A Prima resin window was added to one side of the house:

 Along with fussy cut toadstools:

Hand made frames (created with modelling clay and a silicone mould) were added to the front opening of the house and also to the side of the roof:

Thanks so much for dropping by.  I hope you enjoyed visiting my little Flower Fairy House

Till next time,
Trudi

Light House Project

Hello!!

Thanks so much for dropping by. Today I have a beyond the page project to share with you created with Prima's Sea Shore collection.

**Also note the top of the lighthouse lifts off so that the LED candle can be switched on and off **

The light house was created using my own template design. The foundations first created with stronger chipboard and then covered with Sea Horse 'Under The Sea' patterned paper.

A brick pattern was added to the base of the lighthouse using a Prima stencil and texture paste. Glass Glitter was sprinkled over the texture paste with Color Bloom Sprays spritz over the top - I used Antique Gold and Soft Teal.  White Gesso was dabbed over some of the misted area so that just a hint of colour peeks through.
Resin and Metal elements add a touch of shabby and Chantilly Metal Knobs and hemp twine add a little nautical feel:
Shells have been adhered around the base of the lighthouse for a touch of seaside influence.

Till next time,
