2CC: Follow Your Heart

Hi Everyone,

Popping in today to share some more 2Crafty Chipboard inspiration. I have created something more on the whimsical style.  

It was fun creating a floral playground for my 'little fairy':  

Follow Your Heart

A fairy does require wings and Skeleton Leaves' were perfect for giving my fairy her wings. 

Fairies and butterflies go hand in hand - a Delicate Butterfly rests on a Leafy Shrub.
I adhered this in place on a slight angle upwards to add a little dimension. 

Follow Your Heart was the perfect sentiment for this very sweet little fairy.

Elements from both Leafy Shrub Set 1 and Leafy Shrub Set 2 were used to extend the delicate Flowery Swirly Frame. These were tucked in around where my little fairy rests among the fussy cut floral blooms - I used patterned papers from My Mind's Eye In Bloom Collection.

A little shading and splatters were added around the flower edges with Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays.

The Flowery Swirly Frame also creates a happy terrarium effect.  

The chipboard elements were kept darker to add contrast to the 'heavier' toning of the fussy

 cut floral elements.  A touch of metallic gold accents the wings, title and flowers of the 11" frame.

Kraft Plus: Design Inspiration

Hello and welcome to the very first challenge for Kraft Plus! Whoo Hooo, we are all so very excited at Kraft Plus and hope that you are too.

The design team and guest designers have done an AMAZING job of  interpretating the Mango Breeze Challenge.  Check out all the awesomeness and details for entering the challenge HERE

This month it is a colour inspiration palette:

And here is my take on it:

I incorporated colours of the palette with MME 'Find Your Wings and Fly' patterned papers, coordinating chipboard and Prima flowers - from the Divine and Zephyr collections.

Firstly, I trimmed the base Kraft cardstock by approx 1" and then punched each corner with a decorative corner punch. I then laid this over the top of the patterned paper - Sky's The Limit Flowers For You for a touch of colour peeking around the outer edge. I also left the Twiddleybitz chipboard circles (these were individually cut from the circle page overlay) in their natural state to tone with the Kraft Cardstock

A scattering of sequins add a touch of sparkly pretty.

I call him Dad...

Hi There Everyone,

Today I have a Publication project to share that is more on the 'masculine' side. 

This was a project that was featured in the Australian magazine Scrapbook Creations. The issue also coincided with Father's Day here in Australia.  This tender moment captured of my Miss E with her Daddy was the perfect choice.

'I call him Dad' as seen in Scrapbook Creations Issue #95.

Darker colours feature along with turquoise blue and a splash of yellow for contrast.  The patterned papers were not overly fussy in design. Glitz Design was combined with a touch of MME and a big  butterfly was cut from Bo Bunny paper. 

Twiddleybitz chipboard elements were layered over the top of the butterfly to add a touch of grunge texture.

I had lots of fun altering the chipboard - I used a combination of inks, colour sprays and a sprinkling of diamond dust.
A few Prima Metallic Flowers (also altered) along with MME brads and bling add a touch of masculine 'sweetness'.

It's been a while since I have worked with these tonings and 'style', but as they say change is good as is being creatively stretched. It is perhaps not a style that I venture to often, but with saying this, did enjoy the process of putting this one together.

Publication: 'Daydream Believer'

I totally **heart** the MME Follow Your Heart collection and it was the perfect choice for creating something in the style 'Sugar & Spice'.

'Daydream Believer'

Papers which are feminine and soft in toning work well for this style.  I concentrated on pastel tonings but dusty and earthy would also look lovely.  I combined patterned papers with lots of coordinated embellishments.  Floral patterns, blooms and lace doilies add just the right amount of sweetness with a splash of darker blush for a touch of spice.

Pretty blooms and butterflies add some more sugary sweetness.
