Ruby RockIt!: Steamworks Tag

Hello Again!

Trudi back with you all today.  I just love the new Mini Theme Steamworks and Dapper papers.  The colours of both these ranges coordinate beautifully in the creation of the following tag:

Ruby RockIt! Products:

Bella! Steamworks SKS99 Odds & Ends, Bella! Dapper DPR76 Dapper

Other:

Packaging (for tag bag), Chipboard Stars, Metal Embellishments, White paint, Embossing Powder

The base of the tag was created from some packaging which I covered with Dapper Imprint.

For embellishing, I worked with both sides from Steamworks Odds & Ends.

I layered trimmed sections and added fussy cut elements

Rolling the top hat element creates a nice curved effect.

Take Flight

Popping in with another altered project to share - this one was created for 2Crafty Chipboard when I was on their Design Team last year.

One of my girls was gifted a mini alphabet light up letter from Typo - of course I kept the box (as you do when you are a paper crafter) as it was so cool.  So here it is - it has now been given a makeover with lots of Graphic 45 Steampunk and 2Crafty Chipboard loveliness.

"Take Flight"  

I covered the box with papers from the Steampunk Debutante Collection - though I did leave the sides the box unaltered as this was where all the cool manufacturing printed stuff was :)

A peek a boo effect was created - I layered lots of fussy cut elements with chipboard and metal pieces on the inside.  Dimension was created with the layers and the help of foam tape.

A metallic look was given to the large chipboard Fanciful Butterfly with black ink, patina and antique gold shimmer sprays.

Other chipboard pieces were inked black then lightly dabbed with a little metallic gold paint. 

A few metal elements were also added to the front and along the sides of the box along with steampunk inspired 2Crafty Chipboard.
