Once Upon A Sketch May Challenge

There are still a few days to get your entries completed for this month's Once Upon A...Sketch challenge.

 The

 Theme is Mum
We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Mum" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch.

Ideas for journalling: you as a mother, your role as a working/stay-at-home mum, sacrifices/benefits of being a mum, one day in your life as a mum, how your life has changed since being a mum, a tribute to your own mum, grandmother, guardian or someone you consider as close as your mum, your relationship with your mum or your daughter, one trait you have take from your mum, your desire to be a mum, your feelings on motherhood, what does it mean to be a mum?, what kind of mum do you want to be? , Mother's Day celebrations/traditions, your favourite Mother's Day gift given/receive etc..

I went for a somewhat quirky take on the 'Mum' theme challenge.  My inspiration came about from a hand made card that my youngest gave me for mother's day.  The card was created at kinder and the 'real' mother's ode was contained within.

The Author of this is unknown.

Of course this is meant as a bit of fun and certainly no means of discrediting mother's in any way :)

Can this real mother also add that....

Real Mother's also know that blue metallic paint will not wipe off from hard slate floors when it is dry .
Real Mother's know that red texta will also not wipe off from a painted window sill.  However, in time the sun will fade it.

The journal and photo positions were altered but I pretty much stayed true to the sketch design.

Crate Paper, Basic Grey Doily Die Cut and a Kaisercraft Die Cut were combined with  Twiddleybitz chipboard and Prima Flowers.
A little recipe stand embellishment was created with a Twiddleybitz Swirl Chippy Frame and an Original Recipe Cooking Embellishment.   A Wheat Flourish was also cut up and part of this sits behind the Original Recipe Embellishment.  The other part was tucked into the cluster of flowers and this sits on top of a Swirl Flourish Vine.
For more challenge inspiration head on over to the Once Upon A... Sketch blog.

Also I wanted to do a shout out for the Once Upon A... Sketch Design Team call which is still open.  I encourage you to apply, it's such a great team to be a part of.  All the details for applying are HERE.

Thanks for dropping by,

Hugs
