Scrapping Outback Sketch Challenge

First Day of Spring Greetings Everyone!!

Well today feels anything but like Spring weather - It's raining and absolutely freezing cold here just for something different.... Ummm Not (LOL)

Anyway I am here today to showcase the brand new sketch that's just gone up at Scrapping Outback.

I've made this one a bit different and I hope you will have some fun with it - I know I did

My take on the September Sketch

I have used the gorgeous Fancy Pants 'About A Girl' Patterned Papers and combined them with a 'Besties' chippie title. These are available in the Scrapping Outback Store.

I also did some stash raiding and have added a Fancy Pants felt frame, Carolees's stickers and some gorgeous TPC Studio Boho Blooms Fabric Buttons - think that I am gonna have to find myself some more of these delightful treasures

Scrapping Outback September's Sketch

You have until the 30/09/2010 to upload your gorgeous creations to the September Sketch 2010 Folder in the Scrapping Outback Gallery.

Have Fun and Happy Scrapping

Well, I last night I finished off my final Scrapping Outback Chipboard Highschool homework assignment. I cannot believe that school is now out. What a fabulous time I had and thankyou to our tutors Miss Sandra (Sandra Gerdes), Miss Rachelle (Rachelle Minnitt), Miss Julie (Julie Hill) and Miss Carole (Carole Janson) for sharing their amazing altering techniques with us all. What I loved most was the fact that I got to scrap again. I have really missed creating as it has had to be put on hold for a while now. I have missed it but didn't realise how much.

This week was all about 'Paper Piecing' with none other than the queen of paper piecing herself.....Carole Janson. You can check out Carole's amazing creation here

I also had a lot fun with this technique

So now that the Class 2009 is out, it all about the party now - the graduation party!! Still have a couple of weeks to get frocked up for the occassion (LOL!)
There have been some absolutely fabulous creations done by the Scrapping Outback Class 2009. You can check out all the weekly assignment creativeness here and the finalists so far here

Firstly Happy Mother's Day to all us mothers out there!! I hope that you have had a truly lovely day. Me - well my day started nice and early (eeek) and whilst DH was merrily snoozing and snoring his little head off, I was up trying to explain to my darling cherubs why the cartoons were not on (yes it was too early for cartoons to have even started) and having major disagreements over breakfast choices - No chocolate easter eggs are not a suitable breakfast choice. I was taken out for lunch - to a family friendly restuarant of course, which was just lovely.

Scrapping wise - Last night I put the finishing touches on this layout 'Angel face' for this weeks chipboard highschool homework assignment over at Scrapping Outback.

This week was all about creating 'the metal look' and I must say that I just LOVE this technique. Very grungy and Yes messy indeed but the effect is just fantastic. I was also able to adapt the technique to suit my more feminine theme

I also managed to incorporate techniques learnt in week 1 for my 'angel' title

and some hidden journalling

I also had a play with photo editing for the photo of Eloise. First I changed the photo to a vintage look which I did myself in different layers. Then I applied a Coffee Shop PSE action 'Honey Retro' afer FINALLY working out how to load actions to PSE.

It's Sunday and it's time for another 'homework assignment' layout share

i HEART you

This one is for Scrapping Outback's Chipboard School. We are motoring along - only a couple of weeks to go now - guess I will have to start thinking about what I am going to wear to the Graduation Party (LOL!)

This week's assignment was all about customising chipboard

I'll be back later on to share some 'news' and some other lay out shares that I have been working on

Something to share

Just a sneakie peakie for now

Sweet Treat

Couldn't help myself and just had to scrap the photos that I took of Nikayla on Tuesday devouring that very yummy looking cupcake. I was 'saving' these for another idea that I had for them but then Rachelle Minnitt's chippie school challenge at Scrapping Outback this week was all about creating funky doodled titles... so funky and doodled these photos became and homework assignment number 3 is now done and dusted!

Just a sneakie peakie for now

Back to School - Week 2

Chippie School is back in at Scrapping Outback and our teacher this week is Miss Jules (Julie Hill)

Assignment this week: Sheer Coverups

This was an interesting technique and I just love how my layout has turned out. As the chippie is fairly large, I decided to make this the feature of the layout and added some stamping to finish it off

Back To School

Never thought that I would be saying this but I have gone back to school LOL - well Chiphoard Highschool aka Scrapping Outback style that is. Bet I had you all going didn't I, Ha!! Anyway for the next 6 weeks I am chippie student of the wonderful scrapping artists Miss Sandra (Sandra Gerdes), Miss Rachelle (Rachelle Minnitt), Miss Carole (Carole Janson) and Miss Julie (Julie Hill) and they hope to teach us students how to do very cool things one can do with chipboard.

This week we had Miss Sandra (Sandra Gerdes) as our teacher and she has set us two homework assignments.

Assignment: Creating holographic titles

Here is Homework Assignment 1 that I have created

'Beautiful Girl'

and a couple of close up peakies of my title work

and a couple of close up peakies of my butterfly

On to Homework Assignment Number 2 - Creating faux opal effects

'Falling Star'

and a couple of close up piccies of my title work

I have really enjoyed doing something 'different' and have even managed to do two layouts (Whoo Hoo!!)I have found scrapping this week to be very theraputic given the chaos, turmoil and illness of the last few weeks.

I have also learnt so many things NOT to do when using glitter, embossing powder and heat embossing tools but I will save this for another post (LOL!)
